Introducing: Producers’ Salon

Thursday, January 19th, 7-9:30pm (Every 3rd Thursday)

Join us for a new monthly event where you can share your creative projects, get group feedback on works in progress, and network with other AIM volunteers. All AIM members are invited to attend for free, and are encouraged to bring a snack, beverage, or suggested donation to share with the group.

This is a place to…

  • Share a short media piece (or excerpt of one) that you’ve created, and get feedback
  • Sharpen up a story pitch or project idea
  • Get help with pre-production planning
  • Get plugged into productions that are looking for crew (or recruit for your own production)
  • Brainstorm ways to promote your show
  • Find out what’s happening in the AIM community, and connect with some great people

Current members and producers can register for the event through our member portal. A limited number of producers will be invited to workshop/share their project in front of the larger group. If you’d like to be considered for a time slot, please email with answers to the following:

  • Please describe your media project in 2-3 sentences
  • What kind of feedback are you hoping to get from the group? (Examples: “I’d like some notes on how to make this 2-minute edited sequence more punchy,” or, “I’m reaching out to potential sponsors for my radio show and would like to practice my elevator pitch”)
  • Do you require any multimedia assistance for your presentation? (Large screen, bluetooth speaker, ppt presentation, etc.)
  • How much total time will your workshop session require? (Max 20 minutes, including Q&A with audience)

7-7:30 – Welcome, mingle, grab snacks
7:30-8:30 – Workshop sessions (Max 4 ppl, depending on time allotments)
8:30-8:45 – Lightning round (this is the place to do a < 30 sec verbal crew call, gig announcement, “Come talk to me about…” etc– plus AIM announcements)
8:45-9:30 – General mingling and networking
