The Arlington Independent Media high definition production facility is equipped with a three-camera studio, a full complement of portable equipment, a mobile flypack, a state-of-the-art audio production suite, and the Premiere Pro editing system.

All equipment and facilities are made available to AIM members for the purpose of producing public access programming. There are nominal fees for the use of AIM equipment, and members must first become certified through our basic classes. Our professional production and training staff are on site to guide AIM members with their production needs.

For businesses and organizations, AIM also offers affordable rates for commercial studio and equipment rentals. Find out more or contact us to get a quote.

Productions completed at AIM through the use of our equipment and facilities will air on our channels, Comcast 69 and Verizon 38.

Anyone can produce a program at Arlington Independent Media! If you have an idea for community programming, you can make it happen using our facilities and equipment. With access to modern technology, help from a huge base of trained and experienced volunteers, and guidance from our expert staff, volunteer producers create local, community-based programs of every genre and style. Check out some of the current programs created by our volunteer producers. Every point of view is welcomed, and AIM fosters creative ideas and a plan to bring those ideas to fruition. AIM producers have the opportunity to network with fellow members, recruit volunteers, and develop their ideas through ongoing collaborative meetings with staff and other producers.

We have a few simple guidelines for our volunteer producers:
• All producers are required to be current members of AIM
• All producers must take the Introduction to Community Media class
• All producers must be certified through one or more of our Basic Classes
• All producer programming must be intended first and foremost for airing on the AIM cable channels, Comcast 69 and Verizon 38 (with the exception of audio programs)

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Arlington Independent Media. Their hours of dedicated work result in high quality community programming year round.  Volunteers work as camera operators, lighting designers, audio technicians, technical directors, editors and other positions on the many programs produced here regularly. Many of our volunteers gain valuable skills that give them an opportunity to learn, grow and excel in their professional lives. Not to mention, volunteering at AIM is fun!  We have a variety of different programs to volunteer with, from short films to musical showcases to local talk shows.  Volunteering at AIM is a chance to connect with a creative community full of individuals who are passionate about sharing their voice through independent media.

Volunteers must be current AIM members, and in some cases must be certified to use AIM equipment. Take a look at how to become a volunteer crew member with us and let’s get started!
